Personal development, behaviour and welfare at Booker Hill
All of our policies with regard to Safeguarding, SMSC, Behaviour, Welfare and Discipline are underpinned by our Ethos and Aims and also by the Department for Education (DFE) Guidelines.
An overview illustrating how we demonstrate personal development, behaviour and welfare through our curriculum and experiences can clearly be seen through viewing our PDBW document here. This document outlines just some of the ways that we promote:
- Pride in achievement and commitment to learning through a positive culture
- Self-confidence, self-assurance and knowledge of pupils potential to be successful learners
- Prompt and regular attendance
- Understanding of how to keep safe from relevant risks such as exploitation and extremism, including when using the internet and social media
- Knowledge of how to stay healthy, both emotionally and physically, including through exercising and healthy eating
- Personal development, so that pupils are well prepared to respect others and contribute to wider society and life in Britain
- An understanding of the different cultures in modern Britain and the opportunity to work with young people and adults from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Fundamental British values
