Houses at booker hill school

At Booker Hill School, all staff members and children are placed into one of four ‘Houses’ and each house has a captain and vice-captain.

DAHL House. Our house is named after Roald Dahl who lived and was buried in Great Missenden. Roald Dahl is probably the most famous children's writer ever.

REDGRAVE House. Our house is named after Steve Redgrave who was born in Marlow on March 23, 1962. Steve Redgrave has won 5 Olympic gold and 1 Olympic bronze medals.

DISRAELI House. Our house is named after Benjamin Disraeli who is buried in Hughenden Manor, where he lived for some of his life. Benjamin Disraeli was born in 1804 and died in April 1881 aged 76 in London. He was also the Prime Minister during Queen Victoria's reign.

NIGHTINGALE House. Our house is named after Florence Nightingale who lived in Claydon House and is well known for setting up a nursing school. She also took nurses to the Crimean war to help the wounded soldiers. She also took nurses to the diers.

Everyone has the opportunity to earn house points for their team. House captains and vice captains collate the amounts on a weekly basis and the results are declared in the school’s weekly celebration assembly.

The house leaders also help pupils by offering ideas for earning more house points and giving encouragement to their team members.

Every year, at our annual sports day, pupils compete for points which are added together to form a house total.

The house with the most points is declared overall winners on the day.
