Following the directive from the Government on 18th March 2020, Booker Hill School will close from after school on Friday 20th March until further notice.
The school will remain open for children of frontline key workers and vulnerable children only. In order to follow the Government’s urgent guidance on social distancing, unless you are a frontline key worker, the school can not offer you school-based learning.
The most current information and advice on allocation of places can be found here:
Below are answers to some of the questions you may have. This page will be regularly updated.
Will the school be closing? The Government has announced that all schools will be closed to everyone except children of key workers and vulnerable children from Monday 23rd March 2020, as part of the country’s ongoing response to coronavirus. As such, Booker Hill School will close from Friday 20th March 2020 after school onwards for all pupils except for children of frontline key workers and vulnerable children.
What do I do if I am a frontline key worker or if my child is vulnerable and I want my child to continue attending school? The Government has identified key workers in a list available at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision.
Vulnerable children include those who have a social worker and those with Education, Health and Care Plans. The purpose of this is so that key workers are able to work during the current crisis on the front line, without the worries of childcare and having to rely on grandparents for support.
Please let the school know by email to office@bookerhill.bucks.sch.uk if your employment fits into the categories of key worker listed above, or you believe your child is vulnerable, and you wish your child / children to remain in school.
How will you keep in touch with us while the school is closed? We will keep in regular contact with parents by email (Whole School), with pupils via the school VLE (DB Primary). Please ensure you check for messages.
How will the school deliver a continued education to my child in the event of a closure? The school is currently in the process of generating resource material for children to continue their education at home. Emails will be sent to all parents outlining our remote provision in detail.
