World Book Day 2020

World Book Day was a huge success. The children in Year 4 dressed up in so many different costumes. Everyone looked amazing! Our traditional tale in Year 4 was The Wizard of Oz. Together, we built the yellow brick road, took on the role of 'Scarecrow' to write a diary entry and we even took part in a science experiment to melt The Wicked Witch. An amazing day was had by all!

Year 4 and Year 1 joined together for paired reading.

Year 4 children enjoying the new books from the money you raised. Thank you!

In Science, we made our own wicked witch by mixing together different materials to create a solid. Using a secret ingredient, we melted the witch and all that remained was her hat.

And everyone lived happily ever after!

British Science Week 2020

Surviving Antarctica!

The aim was to find out what material is the best thermal insulator. The children used thermometers to record the temperatures of the water and identify which material kept the water the warmest. Following this they designed a prototype of their coat using their chosen materials.

    Autumn 19

In Year 4 this Autumn term, we have been extremely busy fund raising for MacMillan. Our coffee morning was huge success and we raised £245.

Year 4 have also been learning about the importance of Remembrance Day and presented a very moving class assembly. We led the whole school including parents in a two-minute silence.
