Our topic in science this term is looking at humans and animals. We described and compared the structure of a variety of common animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals including pets. A visit from the farm was very exciting and we all had an opportunity to see and touch farm animals.
Diwali
We read the story of Rama and Sita and made diva lamps being mindful of those celebrating Diwali. The children loved working with clay and we were very pleased with our sparkly diva lamps. Diwali is a festival of new beginnings. The triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
Science
In Science we have been exploring the differences and similarities between humans and animals. We completed two investigations using our sense of smell and taste. Using our sense of small the children made a scent bag filled with lavender and rosemary.
Part of our Science is also observing seasonal changes. The children have been very observant and have been commenting on the changes as we move from Autumn to Winter.
