During Spring 1st Half

During the beginning of the spring, we were very interested in the effect the cold weather had on our outdoor learning environment. We were also learning about animals that live in cold weather animals. Our favourite story was 'Say Hello to the Snowy Animals' by Ian Whybrow.
We were also very excited to play in our new Supermarket Role Play Area.
We have loved painting on ice and watching the colours mix to make completely new magical colours.
Old MacDonald was one of our favourite nursery rhymes and we have loved learning about the different animals, their sounds and the jobs farmers do.
We have kept warm while outside by riding bikes and improving our ball skills in the garden.
We have hatched, counted and explored different types and sized dinosaurs.
We have carefully measured and kept track of how our dinosaurs grew after hatching from their ice eggs.

We have loved dressing up, acting out the stories and have learned to have in-depth conversations about our favourite stories.
We have also explored how tall we are and have learned the vocabulary to make comparisons and describe how tall things are.
We have investigated the different properties of 2D shapes and have explored capacity, repeating ABAB patterns and different types of textures too:

We ended the Spring term with the highlight of the Small Animal Encounter visit we have experienced via Ark Farm:
We were very created and have enjoyed initiating our own art, we have learned to mix different colours and have also created repeating patterns and have enjoyed doing action painting with golf balls:

Through playing and exploring we have learned to make choices and
