Please help our school!

It has come to our attention that there is a consultation on the Bucks County Council website that is proposing to re-align the catchment area between Booker Hill and Millbrook Schools.  The proposal closes on 31st January 2017.

Question 3 is the one you must answer

The consultation is proposing to significantly reduce the catchment area for Booker Hill School by giving all the housing at the bottom end of Booker Hill Road up to the entrance to Roundwood Woods to Millbrook School. In return Booker Hill would receive the middle section of New Road (mainly woodland and including the sheltered housing). If this proposal is passed it will mean that more families with young children will not have a safe route to school. Parents would be forced to walk along the busy New Road, cross at the Sands roundabouts where there is no safe place to cross and walk a long distance up Mill End Road. Alternatively parents would need to take the bus or drive to a school where there is already heavy congestion and no parking available.

The Governing Body are opposed to the proposal and have written to the council and My Hayday (local Councillor) to voice their objections. You can read a copy of that letter here

If you wish to add supporting comments please do so stating Booker Hill School. You can use the information from the Governing Body letter to help with your response.

It is important we get as many people to respond to this consultation as possible so please share this information with family members, friends and neighbours and encourage them to respond too.
